OROUNI AND WATER BABIES SPLIT THE SOUND

Orouni and the Water Babies. I know what you're thinking: that is an absolute cool name for a band, even though you don't have the slightest idea what it could mean. Alas, just like the best things in life (youth, summer, this blog), this little party is only temporary.

The story says Orouni met Water Babies (whose singer is none other than Sofia Bolt hiding under her true given name, the little trickster!) in Paris, in the spring of 2014. Some months later, after stumbling upon the Stereolab / Fugu split-single, Orouni jokingly suggested they should do the same. Only it wasn't really funny and Clémentine March, composer for Water Babies, took him at his word.

So here's the Water Babies' side of this musical wedding. La Dernière Ivresse is a virtual collage of summer memories that makes you want to drag your friends to the nearest beach or barbecue and tap your feet in rhythm. The lyrics are kind of bittersweet but all in all, all we can think about while watching the video is summer...
