BOOK OF THE WEEK: SYMBOLIC MISERY VOLUME 2 - THE CATASTROPHE OF THE SENSIBLE BY BERNARD STIEGLER

This week's book of the week is Symbolic Misery Volume 2 - The Catastrophe of the Sensible by Berndard Stiegler, translated by Barnaby Norman and published by Polity Press.
Stiegler takes a look at the relationship between politics and art as well as the role of 'hyper-industries' in our daily lives. This original text, the follow–up to Volume 1: The Hyperindustrial Epoch, is the second in Stiegler’s Symbolic Misery series which will consolidates Stiegler’s reputation as one of the most original cultural theorists of the modern age. As Ian James from Downing College, Cambridge puts it: "Stiegler does not simply diagnose a collective malaise... his writing is a call to arms and a programme for a total rethinking of our relationship to technical objects."
