REVIEWS AND DRAWINGS from Michael Faraday School - 'Une vie de chat'

The year 4 class from Michael Faraday school watched 'Une vie de chat' at the Institut français and they absolutely loved it! Here are the two most original and/or funny reviews and the two most inspired drawings of the batch:

Une vie de chat – a review (by Annalise aged 9)

A Cat in Paris (Une vie de Chat) is an animated cartoon film. What happens is that an evil man called Costa is a baddie who killed a girls’ dad. Zoe is the quiet, small girl and her mum is a police officer who has been trying to catch Costa.

In the film, the main characters are Zoë, Costa, Zoe’s mum, the babysitter, Claudine, Nico, Costa’s helpers and the cat of the title.

The film is fantastic and has a yapping dog that can’t stop barking. The film is quite realistic, especially the part where Costa fell off the statue.

The characters take part in a lot of action and their personalities also transform because Dino starts off as bad, then by the end of the movie, he turns out to be good. It all ends happily as Nico and Zoe’s mum get together and they give each other each other presents and live happily ever after.

Une vie de chat – my review (by Rayan aged 9)

The movie is a kind of bad guy vs. good guy movie because the police have weapons but the criminals have more and all this occurs on the streets of Paris.

There is a bad guy called Nico who robs people’s houses for riches. There’s an even worse guy called Costa who kills and robs people, including killing the father of a little girl called Zoe. Zoe’s mum works for the police and is determined to catch the killer of her husband.

In a tangled story, Zoë finds her baby sitter is working with Costa and she gets caught but she and Dino, her cat, runs for their life. This is where Nico becomes the hero as he saves Zoe and Dino and traps Costa on a bridge. As the police close in, Costa ends up killing himself because he goes mental and imagines some his loot has come to life.

I rate the movie 4 out of 4 because it is very realistic and it is very funny and it is very cool. It’s cool because the criminals have cool weapons! I would recommend it to all children if they like ‘shoot ‘em up’ type films where people get out their weapons.
