Vincent Lindon Interview

In April of this year, the French star Vincent Lindon joined us at the Institut francais to discuss his new film The Measure of a Man or La loi du marché in French by director Stéphane Brizé.

The film explores the difficulties a man encounters when he tries to get back on the job market after being unemployed for more than two years. Alongside Vincent Lindon, the rest of the cast are non-professional actors who do a stirling job of keeping us engaged with this extremely realistic drama.

Lindon is a household name in France having appeared in films such as Welcome (2009), Anything for her (2008), La moustache (2005) as well as many more spanning his extensive career which began in the 1980s. He also won the award for Best Actor at Cannes in 2015 for his role in The Measure of a Man...even more of a reason to see the film!

Here at Culturetheque we’ve put the interview online so you can enjoy Vincent’s very entertaining discussion with Paul Ryan at your leisure. His modest character and his desire to portray the reality that many go through on a daily basis were the two main themes of the discussion. Have a listen here and let us know your thoughts!

The film will be showing at the Institut’s cinema from Friday the 3rd of June and it’s definitely worth a see. For more info about tickets you can visit the Institut’s website here.
