Looking for a way to celebrate the European Championships taking place this month in France? Our lovely music team here at the Institut francais are bringing over a number of brilliant French artists who will be performing throughout June as the matches are shown. These concerts will be taking place at the Rich Mix venue and there will be free entry for each of the live music events!
The series of concerts starts on the 10th of June with Chinese Man Records’ Deluxe and their rolling revue that takes in disco, hip hop, electro-swing and more. You can get prepared by having a listen to their music on Culturethèque here. Two days later, DJ Click will be performing some impressive beats that you can start listening to here.
The 21st of June is an important date in the French calendar as it means the Fête de la Musique! Free, live music events take place all over France including big names but also the smallest local bands who play to an tiny audience in the middle of the countryside...the idea is to appreciate music to the max.
This year, some of that festival atmosphere is coming to London as Rich Mix will play host to Talisco, C.A.R (DJ), Man Like Nells, Rockfort DJ all on one day. You can listen to some electro-folk anthems from Talisco here and C.A.R here.

We can’t tell you who will still be in the football competition by this stage but we do know that Fanfaraï will be with us for a concert full of rich, big-band blends of Arabo-Berber, Afro-Cuban, latin and jazz sounds on the 10th of July. We’d definitely suggest giving them a listen here.
So even if football’s not really your thing, we’d suggest heading down to Rich Mix for some French music-filled evenings during June and July.
