French Music at Glastonbury 2016
It’s that time of year again; time to dig out your tent, wellies, best festival frocks and head down to Glastonbury, the largest greenfield festival in the world.
Things are off to a soggy start with heavy rain both yesterday and today coupled with huge traffic jams across the country. But it will all be worth it for the music!
If you’re heading over with a mind to discover some French music, we’ve put together a little list of who’s who and even some links you can listen to in the car/bus/train on your way to the festival site (before your phones dies…)
Friday 24th of June
Superstar French pop-rockers Christine and the Queens will be playing the Other Stage on Friday after having conquered the USA earlier this year.
Saturday 25th of June
Electro rockers M83 will be heading to the John Peel Stage on the Saturday to promote their recently released album 'Junk'. You’ll probably recognise them for their song ‘Midnight City’ that has been made famous by the likes of Made in Chelsea…
Sunday the 26th of June
Smokey Joe and the Kid are heading to Chai Wallahs with some hip hop beats. You can get ahead of the game and have a listen to some of their tracks on Culturethèque here.
Caravan Palace will be taking to the famous Pyramid Stage towards the end of the festival. You’ve no doubt heard ‘Lone Digger’, ‘Wonderland’ or ‘Rock it For Me’ but you can listen to more of their stuff right here.
So even if you didn’t manage to get tickets this year, you can listen to the tracks from the warmth and dry of your bedroom and feel like you’re part of the festivities!
