FILM REVIEWS from Gayhurst School - 'Mia et le Migou'

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming year 6 class from Gayhurst School, who submitted their critiques for the film 'Mia et le Migou' directed by Jacques-Remy Girerd!

In this adventure movie, Mia takes us on a trip across the South American landscape, and helps us discover magical creatures and the great power of Mother Nature. This lovely animated film received several awards, and is a perfect blend of suspense, humour and friendship.

Mia et le Migou is an entertaining French comedy that I watched at the Institut Français in London. It is set in the Amazon and is about a girl called Mia who is trying to find her father. On her trip, she fell in love with a boy called Aldrin and she also meets the Migous. The Migous are very funny creatures that can turn into giants. They tell Mia that they die if the tree in the middle of the lake dies. Aldrin’s dad then burns up the tree. That makes the movie very dramatic, funny and entertaining. I am very happy I saw this movie as it took six years to do the drawings. Overall I think that this is a very good French story and movie that I rate 4 out of 5.

I found Mia et le Migou very fun and enjoyable. I found the story very exciting and full of suspense. My favourite characters were Mia, Aldrin, Migou, Pedro and la sorcière. I loved all the artwork and animation. I think all the characters were very good. The film sent a strong message that people should protect the rainforest. I would recommend this film to anyone since it is so good. I give this film 5 stars out of 5 stars.

I really enjoyed watching ‘Mia et le Migou’ because it was set in the lovely environment of the rainforest. I loved the idea of an upside down tree and the beautiful illustrations. It looked like the hard work had paid off with six years of drawings. It is a very colourful movie. My favourite character was the sorcerer and how she helped Mia get her dream and it was a very exciting dream. I loved the idea of the whole animation! The animals in the film were colourful and very well drawn. The idea of a Migou is awesome and I loved their magical powers. The Migou’s mouth is very funny and the comedy was cool. The message of protecting the rainforest is important. I would rate the movie four stars out of five.

The reason I liked ‘Mia et le Migou’ is the setting in the Amazon, because it’s so colourful. My favourite characters were Mia and Migou. I think that the movie was very mysterious because of the migous. The artwork was very well done. I think that the animals and monsters were very well created and acted.

The message in the movie was very clear, that you shouldn’t harm the rainforest. If you do, the animals will also be harmed. I would recommend this movie because children will like it and it has a very important message. Out of five, I would rate this story five because of its moral and it is a good movie.

I like the rainforest and nature and my favourite characters are the migous. I think the migous are very nice and gentle. The movie is sometimes scary and sometimes mysterious. I like the way the animators drew the film and they illustrated the migous very well. I think the movie was trying to promote protecting the rainforest. I would recommend this film because it has a very good plot and was well illustrated.
