France guest of honour at the Frankfurt Bookfair

We are very proud to say that France will be guest of honour at the 2017 Frankfurt Book Fair!

To celebrate this, there will be a fabulous delegation of French language authors present in Frankfurt and throughout the book fair. No less than 180 writers of fiction, non-fiction, children's literature and graphic novels will be descending on the Book Fair from the 11th to the 15th of October, representing all the exciting trends currently running through French publishing. Ideas of translation and hospitality will be at the heart of a very dense programme of public and professional events taking place on the French stand. All authors present are translated into a great number of languages and have travelled with their books across countries and continents. Many of these are translated here in the UK, by great publishers and translators without whom literature in translation would be just an abstract notion. To celebrate this, we will be running a series of posts introducing an author a day in the run-up to the Frankfurt Book Fair. Not forgetting, since we are just about to launch into book fair mode, a special focus on those who are not yet translated into English but deserve to be!

For those who can't wait for our posts, you can discover the complete list here, and the very beautiful video presentation of France's "Frankfurt auf Französisch" programme here:
