Join the National Library of France (BNF) as a foreign professional guest!
The National Library of France (BNF) is looking for international professionals as part of the French programme 'Profession Culture' which consists in being part of the administrative and scientific team in public cultural French institutions (Central administration, Regional Office of Cultural Affairs, etc.).
You will work at the BNF as a foreign professional during one or three months.
This is a unique opportunity to be immersed in the biggest French library!
Who is concerned?
You can apply if you are a professional with responsibilites in foreign cultural institutions: manager of cultural institutions, head of department, leader of cultural projects, etc.
You desire to develop a concrete professional project with the host institution, in order to exchange knowledge and skills.
It's better if you work in an institution whose project is linked with collections and services, scientific activities, cultural programme, management policy or development project of the BNF.
How does it work?
- Stays last for one or three months.
- The lodger is welcome into one of the departments of the BNF. He is monitored by a 'tutor', a specialist in his field.
- The BNF provides to the lodger an accomodation at the Centre international d’accueil et d’échanges des Récollets
- The Cultural French Ministery provides to the lodger a subistence allowance of 1500 €/month
How to apply?
You have to offer a strong project to reinforce scentific and/or cultural links between the BNF and your country.
The BNF will evaluate:
- the interest of your project in the departments of the BNF ;
- the likely influence of your work when you will go back to your country. You have to make proposals to highlight your work: exhibition, events, publications, etc.
- the belonging of an institution with which the BNF has or whishes to have a strong cooperation with.
