Portrait of the poet Meriem Terki


Meriem Terki was born in Lorient on November 28, 1994, she grew up and attended school in Châtellerault. After obtaining her bachelor’s in 2012 she took the road to Paris to further her studies.

In 2015, she obtained a degree in sociology at Paris Descartes University. After obtaining a second degree in political science, she is now studying Political Science at Paris Est Nanterre University.

Captivated from a young age in journalism, writing for her is a need that satisfy her desires for a creative profession. Writing for her is a need and a passion which connects her professional aspirations with her artistic dreams. In 2015, she realized one of her dreams by publishing "incipit in W", her first poetry book “Paroles blessées ".

Poetry is a way for her to meet the people who surround her and those unknown to her, by whispering from the page with a melodious air of universal character.

The writings of Meriem Terki, carry the burden of daily afflictions and joys. It is by the pain of the flesh, that spiritedness and benevolence take place in our soul.

“It is by offering a little bit of yourself that you can find the meaning of your life”, she says.

Her needs for diversity have been materialized couple months ago by her work with the photographer Olivier Gomez.

"Paroles blessées" is Mériem Terki's first book of poetry, published in December 2015, an intimate and personal part of herself. She reveals herself between the light and shade of her emotions.

From the reading to the stage

In October 2017, the book of the talented poet was mounted and performed on stage. It was the result of hard work and a beautiful meeting.

A moment of theater wich is drawing the story of two lovers that life separates from the beginning to the end. A love story fantasized and cradled with tears, desires, pains and hopes. Words are melodies for those who listen to them, stars for those who watch them.

The writings are interpreted and performed by Shemss Audat and Pierre André Gilard. The duo formed by these two fabulous comedians is accompanied by Maïlys Pascault on piano. The premiere of the show was played on June 28, 2017 at the Nouveau Théâtre de Châtellerault.
