Europe, from the perspective of other young pupils
From 20th April until 11th May, the Institut français hosted the Drawing (for) Europe exhibition.
Leading figures of children’s illustration, such as Axel Scheffler, Stephanie Blake, Claude K. Dubois and Patrick George gave us their vision of Europe in the Drawing (for) Europe exhibition. This pan-European initiative, led by the Pulse of Europe movement, was launched in 2017 by German publisher Moritz Verlag during the Frankfurt Book Fair, in order to demonstrate the kind of community, solidarity and cooperation that make the EU today. The original exhibition was accompanied by 13 drawings by British artists, including Quentin Blake, Benji Davies, Oliver Jeffers and Bridget Strevens Marzo.
St Anthony's School for girls joined us at the Médiathèque to learn more about the whys and wherefores of the European Union. After seeing the exhibition, these young pupils became immediately inspired and revealed their own vision of Europe, which are shared below.
