Discover Victor Dixen, our South Ken Kids Festival (night) YA writer

Victor Dixen is a French author based in New-York city. He will cross the Atlantic ocean to meet his readers at the South Ken Kids Festival and we are so happy about it!

Born to a Danish mother and a French father, Victor Dixen has spent his childhood traveling with them and acquired a taste for travels and stories. He lived in several cities as an adult and is now settled in New York city.

Victor Dixen has the particularity of writing at night. Having a really difficult time to sleep, he draws his inspiration for his books and its universes from these sleepless nights.

His first two series, The Strange case of Jack Spark and Animale won both the Grand prix de l'Imaginaire but it's with his most recent series Phobos that Victor Dixen became a huge reference among Young Adult readers. In France, the Phobos series is a must-read for sci-fi/fantasy lovers.

Phobos tells the story of 12 young people participating in the most unusual of speed-dating reality shows: an expedition to Mars to create the first human colony. On the spaceship, recorded live, six girls and six boys have six minutes each week to seduce each other and make their choices.

The first book Ascension is published by Hot Key Books in the UK, and readers will be able to discover the 2nd one very soon!! Distortion will be out on 18 October, get ready for more exciting space adventures..

Victor Dixen will be talking about the Phobos series in the Young Adult Special event, alongside Christelle Dabos, author of The Winter’s Journey, story of a girl traveling through time thanks to mirrors and Philip Reeve, author of Railhead, story of a future civilization sprawled across many worlds, linked by a hyperspace railway.

The event promises to be a really interesting meeting of worlds!
